family placement team
The main aim of the Family placement Team is to provide or source a range of appropriate placements for children and young people who cannot live at home.
This team is responsible for the organisation and provision of Adoption and Fostering Services. The fostering service includes recruitment, assessment, training, supervision and review.
Potential Adopters are assessed and given training and once a suitable match is found, ongoing advice and support is provided. The team work closely with children and families team in sourcing and matching children to of island placements when required. The team also assess potential Kinship Carers and a wide variety of training and support is offered to them also. The team facilitates letterbox contact, post adoption searches and support for biological parents whose children have been adopted.
