The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program – parenting help for families.
Triple P was developed by clinical psychologist Professor Matt Saunders and colleagues at Australia s University of Queensland and designed to give parents the skills they need to raise confident, healthy children and teenagers building stronger family relationships.
Triple P doesn’t tell people how to parent. Rather, it gives parents simple and practical strategies they can adapt to suit their own values, beliefs and needs. The benefits can be dramatic and long-lasting.
Professor Sanders says “Children who grow up with positive parenting are more likely to develop the skills they need to do well at schoolwork, build friendships, and feel good about themselves,”
The Triple P system itself comes in varying levels of support to meet parents different needs.
Level 4 Group Triple P courses available locally are
- Group Triple P for parents of children – birth to 12 yrs
- Group Triple P for parents of teenagers
- Standard Triple P Individual Family sessions for parents of children – birth to 12 yr
Local practitioners delivering the courses come from a range of professions like Social Care, Education, Psychology and Social Work.
When it comes to raising kids and teenagers, everyone has an opinion. There are so many ideas out there. So how do you know what’s best and what works? The TripleP – Positive Parenting Program takes the guesswork out of parenting. It is one of the few parenting programs in the world with evidence to show it works for most families.
TripleP gives parents simple tips to help manage the big and small problems of family life. Problems like toddler tantrums or teenage rebellion. Self-esteem issues. Bedtime battles. Disobedience. Aggression. TripleP can help you deal with them all – and more!
