HJALTLAND HOUSING ASSOCATION - CHOICE BASED LETTINGs
Hjaltland Housing Association (HHA) use 'Choice Based Lettings' to allocate its houses. This is a system where you put your name forward for an advertised property you are interested in. All HHA properties are advertised in the Shetland Times and on their website which is updated weekly. Anyone who has registered with HHA can apply for any property.
The pointing policy and procedure determines which applicant is allocated the property.
Hjaltland Housing Associations’ Group and Points System
The Housing Application Pack and HHA’s Lettings Policy Leaflet can be downloaded from the Application pack page.
HHA's allocation system gives priority to applicants by placing them in one of 7 groups. You are prioritised by the group you score most points in and the numbers of points scored (you can qualify for points in more than one group).
Allocations according to group needs in each lettings area
HHA operate a weighting system where a proportion of houses are allocated in each letting area according to the seriousness of one category of housing need compared to another.
