SPORTS COACHING AND VOLUNTEERING
|If you are looking for help to develop your sport or your sports organisation, our Sports Development Officer can help with sports planning, coach education and financial assistance.|
|So far in 2012 we have supported training for PGA Level 1 Coaches, John Muir Awards, Motor Skills Groups, Netball Coaches, Level 2 SFA Football Coaches and a host of other short workshops. Nearly 200 people of all ages and backgrounds have coached and volunteered with Active Schools since August 2011 from after school clubs to Shetland Sports Week activities.|
Volunteering in sport and physical activity makes Shetland a better place and volunteers become better people in better communities.
Through Sport and Leisure young people aged 16 and over can sign up to our Sports Coaching and Volunteering Programme and access information, content, support and training through workshops and coach education visits
Our team are ready to give you further opportunities to coach in the community and be part of some of our flagship sporting events.
