Getting it right for every child aims to improve outcomes for all children and young people.
It puts the well-being of children and young people at the centre. A common co-ordinated framework for assessment, planning and action across all agencies to help when needed. Getting it right for every child recognises that children and young people will be consulted about decisions that affect them.
It promotes a shared approach that:
- Builds solutions with and around children/ young people and families.
- Enables children/young people and families to get the help they need when they need it.
- Supports a positive shift in culture, systems and practice.
- Involves working together to make things better.
Most children and young people in Shetland will get all the help and support they need from their families, the universal services of education and health and the opportunities and support in their neighbourhoods and communities. If you do need help: Access to help is made easier when children, young people, families and practitioners working with children and young people, know who to contact.
