The Library works with partners to provide services that enhance health and wellbeing.
Help Yourself to Health
Our staff are trained in Health Literacy and can help you find books or online information about mental or physical health.
We also run events and promotions around health and wellbeing, often linking with NHS Shetland Health Improvement or SIC Sport and Leisure.

Cost of Living
We work with partners such as SIC Community Development, Anchor for Families and Citizens Advice Shetland to provide information and help. Check our leaflets and notice boards. Playlist for Life
Listening to meaningful music can help people living with dementia. We have leaflets and toolkits that you can use to help people create their own playlists. Just ask staff for help, or check the website.

Memories Scotland
In partnership with Shetland Museum and Archives we will be running Memory Groups in 2023. These are relaxed sessions where old photos are displayed and discussed.
