Shetland Library will host an evening of nature writing at Lerwick Town Hall on 18th November for Book Week Scotland.

Three of Shetland’s top nature writers - Richard Shucksmith, Sally Huband and Jon Dunn - will each give a talk and presentation about their writing and inspiration.

All three authors will be present for an informal family-friendly drop-in event at the new Library from 6-7pm (no need to book).  The RSPB and artist Christina Inkster will both be launching exciting new projects in partnership with the Library, and Shetland Amenity Trust’s Paul Harvey will represent Shetland Biological Records Centre.

Tickets for the Town Hall event, which runs from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday 18th November, can be booked through Eventbrite, and more information can be found on the Shetland Library website: www.shetland.gov.uk/libraries  or by contacting the library at 743868.

Adult Services Librarian Marghie West: “I am delighted that the Library has been able to bring these three authors together to celebrate nature and the joys of the natural world.  Shetland is fortunate indeed to be surrounded by natural wonders and by having world class nature writers.
