Staff sickness is continuing to have an impact on Shetland’s ferry services, with the Bressay Ferry due to operate at limited capacity over the next few days.
- The service will run till 8pm tonight (Tues)
- From Wednesday 27th to Saturday 30th July the ferry will run to normal timetable between 7.30am – 11am, and 5pm – 10pm.
- On Sunday 31st July the service will run to normal timetable between 7.30am – 10.45am, then from 5pm – 10pm.
- The Public Bus Service 42 which operates on a Dial-a-Ride basis from the Bressay Ferry Terminal on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1.08pm will NOT operate on the 27th or 29th
- Emergency cover will be maintained throughout this period

“We’re having difficulty locating appropriately-skilled cover at a time when Covid continues to have an impact on staffing levels across the service, and when colleagues are taking advantage of the opportunity to have some much-needed leave.
“We expect the service to return to normal on Monday 1st August. We’d ask residents and visitors for their patience in the meantime.”
