Shetland Islands Council is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Head Teacher for Bell’s Brae Primary School in Lerwick.
The post offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher, who is passionate about teaching, learning and inclusion, to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people.
As well as the relevant qualifications and experience, the successful candidate will require excellent leadership and communication skills, vision, initiative and self-discipline.
Bell's Brae Primary School located in central Lerwick, consisting of a Primary, an Early Learning and Childcare Setting and an ASN department. There is currently a total of 300 pupils on the school roll and the school’s catchment area includes the North of Lerwick, excluding the Sound area of the town.
The school is managed by the Head Teacher and three Depute Head Teachers with a current complement of 65 staff.
The successful candidate must have a degree with a teaching qualification, be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) and be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
