Electors in the North Mainland of Shetland are reminded to vote in the Shetland Islands Council By-election that will take place tomorrow, Thursday 23 January 2025.
Seven polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm across the Shetland North ward, in North Roe, Hillswick, Brae, Voe, Mossbank, Vidlin and South Nesting. There are a total of 2490 registered electors in the ward.
Two candidates are standing for election to Shetland Islands Council – Natasha Cornick (Independent) and Andrew Hall (Independent).
Postal voters are also reminded to return their completed postal packs as soon as possible, but they can also hand them in to any polling stations in the Shetland North ward on polling day or deliver them to the election office in Lerwick.
The counting of votes will take place in Islesburgh Community Centre, Lerwick on Friday morning, with the results expected to be declared before 11am.
