What can you take here
The covered skips are for household rubbish only, all commercial vehicles must go over the weighbridge and report to the office.
There is no charge for household recycling or rubbish.
Items which can be deposited at the site include:
- cans and tins
- carpets and rugs
- cooking oil
- excess waste
- furniture
- garden waste
- glass (glass recycling bank available on site)
- large electrical appliances (eg cookers, fridges, washing machines, dishwashers) - to be placed in the electrical compound
- mattresses
- plastic bottles
- paper and card
- scrap metal
- shoes and textiles - textile bank are available on site ( Managed by the Salvation Army)
- small electrical appliances (eg kettles, toasters, printers, radios, TVs, toothbrushes) - to be placed in the electrical compound
- used small batteries - Must not go in your general waste
Please ensure you place your items in the correct skip, if you are unsure please ask a member of staff
If your items are in good condition, try offering them for reuse before disposal.
You can also purchase black bags and wheelie bins from the office.
