Learning Disabilities and Autism
We provide care and support for adults with learning disabilities (LD) and/or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) with the aim to help individuals achieve a healthy life and active citizenship. Our focus is on promoting choice, control and independent living. Our Adult Learning Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder services are provided by the Adult Services department of the Community Health and Social Care Directorate.
Our learning disabilities and autism services include:
- Supported Living and Outreach
- Assertive Community Transition Service
- Day care at Eric Gray and Newcraigielea
- Supported vocational activity
- Community learning disability nursing service
- Short breaks and respite
Active citizenship - People with autism will have opportunities to engage in meaningful activity throughout their life, enabling them to develop new skills and maximise their potential for independence.
