Shetland has been allocated a total of £1.859m for the period 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2025, split between £1.538m for ‘core’ UKSPF and £0.321m for the Multiply programme, which will be used to deliver bespoke adult numeracy skills programmes. To access the funding, the council was asked to set out measurable outcomes that reflect local needs and opportunities in an investment plan

In this last year, what was the Business Resilience Forum has transitioned into the Shetland Business Forum and now meets quarterly with meetings based around a specific topic or issue. Topics have included recruitment and retention of staff, and developing the young workforce, with the latest meeting in December 2022 discussed Shetland’s Energy Development Principles.
The Shetland Community Resilience Forum, established at the outset of the pandemic to provide community organisations with regular updates on the public sector’s response to COVID-19 and the means to feedback on community issues, is no longer meeting but evidence of that community engagement continues.
