Shetland Islands Council Climate Change Strategy 2023-2027 – An overarching framework of SIC’s strategic plan to address climate change.

Shetland Islands Council Climate Change SEA Report – The Strategic Environmental Assessment Report on the SIC Climate Change Strategy.

Shetland Islands Council Climate Change Strategy Post-Adoption Statement – This is the Post-Adoption Statement for the Shetland Islands Council Climate Change Strategy 2023-2027, which was adopted by the Council on December 13 2023.  If you would like to obtain a free copy of the Strategy, its accompanying Environmental Report, and Post-Adoption Statement please go to the Shetland Islands Council, 8 North Ness, Lerwick, Shetland, ZE1 0LZ between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00.  You can also download a copy of the Strategy and its accompanying documements from the links listed above.

Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Strategy – EV strategy will set out a strategic plan for increasing Shetlands charge point infrastructure.

Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategy (LHEES) – LHEES will set out the long-term plan for decarbonising heat in buildings and improving their energy efficiency across an entire local authority area.

Shetland Energy Strategy (Draft) – The draft Shetland Energy Strategy sets out the different components of energy transition which are relevant to Shetland.  Setting out where we are now along with the opportunities and challenges for the future.  We need to transform the way energy is generated, transported and used here, and to consider how we engage with energy project development. With our clean energy resource and established skills base, energy transition offers a huge opportunity to deliver benefits to Shetland’s people, workers, communities and the wider economy.  Over the last 50 years Shetland has played a vital role in the country’s energy sector, now our transition to clean energy will be even more important.  You can read or download the following supporting documents for the draft Shetland Energy Strategy:
