Planning & Noise
Environmental Health has published guidance for planning applications involving small wind turbines. The guidance sets out a method for predicting the noise impact from small wind turbines in Shetland. The department has also created a calculator which can be used to create an acceptable small wind turbine noise impact assessment.
The guidance and calculator can be found using the following link:

Environmental Health has produced a calculator which can be used to show if a proposed Air Source Heat Pump will comply with the permitted development noise limits described in MCS 020 Planning Standard.
