We will engage in the development of a new Shetland Transport Strategy that sets a clear strategic and policy framework in response to the drivers for change.
The Shetland Transport Strategy 2022-2042 was developed with high levels of engagement with stakeholders and the public and to take account of relevant local and national policies and strategies. The draft was agreed in June 2023 and submitted to Scottish Ministers on 14 October 2023. Following feedback in November 2023, the Strategy was approved by ZetTrans on 19 February 2024 with revisions reflecting minor comments from Transport Scotland. The final document has been submitted to Scottish Ministers for approval.
