We will continue to support air services to Foula and Fair Isle, including consideration of alternative fuels and technologies in the provision.
The runway extension has been completed and was approved by Air Transport Provider, AirTask. They must now complete paperwork with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Discussions on formal licensing will now recommence with the CAA. The next air services contract covering 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2028 has been tendered and awarded at a slightly reduced cost (1%) relative to the budget for the service.
