Learn from our Council response phase to help us plan for recovery/renewal
Throughout the Council’s pandemic response, the Chief Executive and Corporate Management Team created time to learn from the situation and help to support staff. We were keen to take any positives from the experience and build that in to make services more resilient in future. An example of that has been the way online meetings and remote working have become established, with the Remote Working Policy and Guidelines introduced to capture the positive elements of what had been enforced changes to ways of working. A COVID Recovery staff survey was carried out in November 2021 and results were discussed at CMT. The governance model involving strategic and tactical level teams that was deployed throughout the pandemic proved to be very effective and has also now become the embedded approach to the Council’s involvement in major emergency situations.
