Understand UK and Scottish Government policy in a local setting, seeking to ensure Shetland’s needs are taken into account in recovery/renewal planning
Senior managers and Members fed in to Scottish Government through the Islands Strategic Group, maintained good contact with Shetland’s MP and MSP and sought to make best use of bilateral engagement, wherever that was possible. We also highlighted the need for Island Communities Impact Assessments with Scottish Government, wherever that was appropriate.
